My phone is littered with screenshots of voluminous ball gowns and feathered eyelashes sauntering down circus-performer infested runways. Yup you guessed it, its 2019 Haute Couture fashion week.
Dior, Valentino, Elie Saab, Balmain, Givenchy, Chanel, Iris van Herpen, Monique Lhuillier, the list goes on!

My favourites were probably Givenchy, Giambattista Valli, Iris van Herpen, Valentino (those eyelashes!), and some of the Dior show. Honestly, its too hard to pick! Haute Couture is to adults what you’d imagine you’d wear as a princess growing up.
The whole concept of Haute Couture manages to capture the true whimsicality of fashion. There are no boundaries when it comes to haute couture. Karl Lagerfeld creates whole sets around his shows, with collections centred in rose gardens, space ships, and even around melting ice bergs. Other designers find inspiration in nature, art, culture, and sometimes seemingly random influences.
It allows designers to take risks and push boundaries, to explore and create something which the world has never seen before.
What I most adore about Haute Couture is the other-worldly nature of the shows. It manages to transport admiring fans into a whole different world. I also have a huge amount of respect to the couturiers who spends hours upon hours embroidering and embellishing. If you have a chance you should try find some close up pictures of the embellishments. Honestly, it just blows my mind!
Hope you’ve all enjoyed Haute Couture 2019! Let me know who were your favourites!
Lots of Love,
